In 2018, there were 8.5 million international tourists that visited Australia.

If you’re going to be one of the million tourists that are visiting Australia, you may be wondering what you should do while you’re there.

Are you going on a holiday vacation to Australia? Here are the best things to do in Brisbane as soon as you touch down at the airport.

1. Brisbane Riverwalk

The Brisbane Riverwalk is a nice boardwalk that runs right next to the Brisbane River. If you’re looking for something relaxing after your airport, you’ll be able to see some suburbs and view of the city of Brisbane.

The official route will take you through the Howard Smith Wharves. You can also check out the city to the Botanic Gardens, which is a great place to stretch your legs.

2. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is another great place to experience some local Australian wildlife. You can get up close with these animals and spend some time with a cuddly koala or even some kangaroos.

You’ll also be able to learn more about koalas and how to save them.

3. Story Bridge

Story Bridge links from Kangaroo Point, central Brisbane, and Fortitude Valley. It’s a major attraction here, even if you don’t go just for some Instagram photos.

You can even hire a guide to help show you some cool stuff along the way.

There are also catwalks that are more than 260 feet above the sea level to help get you to the top.

4. Brisbane Lookout

Brisbane Lookout is another great place that you should add to your itinerary.

From here, you’ll be able to see views of Queensland’s capital. It’s located five miles south of the Brisbane city center. There is also a free viewing platform that will let you have amazing views from any point.

The lookout is built in the middle of a 544-acre bushland reserve. In addition to the lookout, there are a few other attractions with some other walking trails as well.

On the observation deck, there is a gift shop, restaurant, cafe, and some coin-operated telescopes. The cafes and restaurants up there offer some of the best food for a reasonable price.

5. Fish Lane

If you want a great restaurant that is outdoor and has some nice dining options, Fish Lane should be your go-to place to find restaurants to eat under the stars. There are all kinds of local favorite restaurants on this lane, but most people don’t come here just for the food.

A lot of international street artists also come to show off their creativity and enjoy the vibe around this unique place in South Brisbane.
